The fact that God wants us to view the death of one of His saints as a joyful occasion doesn't mean we shouldn't feel loss and avoid grieving. We still need to work our way through the grieving process in a mentally and spiritually healthy way. However, we can at the same time experience real happiness for the deceased if we have reason to believe that they accepted Jesus as their saviour. We can also be certain that we will see them again in Heaven if we too have accepted Jesus. If we have doubts about whether or not we're going to Heaven, then we need to get about the business of accepting His free gift of salvation, and then improving our relationship with Jesus Christ so that we can have greater assurance.
'And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.'
- Revelation 14:13
'Precious in the sight of the LORD [is] the death of His saints.'
- Psalms 116:15
