Life's Desire... I just want to be

Hi, Mommy

I'm your baby. You don't know me yet, I'm only a few weeks old. You're going to find out about me soon, though, I promise. Let me tell you some things about me. My name is John, and I've got beautiful brown eyes and black hair. Well, I don't have it yet, but I will when I'm born. I'm going to be your only child, and you'll call me your one and only. I'm going to grow up without a daddy mostly, but we have each other. We'll help each other, and love each other. I want to be a doctor when I grow up. ... You found out about me today, Mommy! You were so excited, you couldn't wait to tell everyone. All you could do all day was smile, and life was perfect. You have a beautiful smile, Mommy. It will be the first face I will see in my life, and it will be the best thing I see in my life. I know it already. ... Today was the day you told Daddy. You were so excited to tell him about me! ...He wasn't happy,Mommy. He kind of got angry. I don't think that you noticed, but he did. He started to talk about something called wedlock, and money, and bills, and stuff I don't think I understand yet. You were still happy, though, so it was okay.

Then he did something scary, Mommy. He hit you. I could feel you fall backward, and your hands flying up to protect me. I was okay... but I was very sad for you. You were crying then, Mommy. That's a sound I don't like. It doesn't make me feel good. It made me cry, too. He said sorry after, and he hugged you again. You forgave him, Mommy, but I'm not sure if I do. It wasn't right. You say he loves you... why would he hurt you? I don't like it, Mommy. ... ... ... ... ...

Finally, you can see me! Your stomach is a little bit bigger, and you're so proud of me! You went out with your mommy to buy new clothes, and you were so so so happy. You sing to me, too. You have the most beautiful voice in the whole wide world. When you sing is when I'm happiest. And you talk to me, and I feel safe. So safe. You just wait and see, Mommy. When I am born I will be perfect just for you. I will make you proud, and I will love you with all of my heart.
I can move my hands and feet now, Mommy. I do it because you put your hands on your belly to feel me, and I giggle. You giggle, too. I love you, Mommy.
... ... ... ... ... ...
Daddy came to see you today, Mommy. I got really scared. He was acting funny and he wasn't talking right. He said he didn't want you. I don't know why, but that's what he said. And he hit you again. I got angry, Mommy. When I grow up I promise I won't let you get hurt! I promise to protect you. Daddy is bad. I don't care if you think that he is a good person, I think he's bad. But he hit you, and he said he didn't want us. He doesn't like me. Why doesn't he like me, Mommy?
You didn't talk to me tonight, Mommy. Is everything okay?
It's been three days since you saw Daddy. You haven't talked to me or touched me or anything since that. Don't you still love me, Mommy? I still love you. I think you feel sad. The only time I feel you is when you sleep. You sleep funny, kind of curled up on your side. And you hug me with your arms, and I feel safe and warm again. Why don't you do that when you're awake, any more?

I'm 21 weeks old today, Mommy. Aren't you proud of me? We're going somewhere today, and it's somewhere new. I'm excited. It looks like a hospital, too. I want to be a doctor when I grow up, Mommy. Did Itell you that? I hope you're as excited as I am. I can't wait.

...Mommy, I'm getting scared. Your heart is still beating, but I don't knowwhat you are thinking. The doctor is talking to you. I think something's going to happen soon. I'm really, really, really scared, Mommy. Please tell me you love me. Then I will feel safe again. I love you!
Mommy, what are they doing to me!?It hurts! Please make them stop! It feels bad! Please, Mommy, please please help me! Make them stop!

Don't worry Mommy, I'm safe. I'm in heaven with the angels now. They told me what you did, and they said it's called an abortion.
Why, Mommy? Why did you do it? Don't you love me any more? Why did you get rid of me? I'm really, really, really sorry if I did something wrong, Mommy. I love you, Mommy! I love you with all of my heart. Why don't you love me? What did I do to deserve what they did to me? I want to live, Mommy! Please! It really, really hurts to see you not care about me, and not talk to me. Didn't I love you enough? Please say you'll keep me, Mommy! I want to live smile and watch the clouds and see your face and grow up and be a doctor. I don't want to be here, I want you to love me again! I'm really really really sorry if I did something wrong. I love you!
I love you, Mommy.

Every abortion is just…

One more heart that was stopped.

Two more eyes that will never see.

Two more hands that will never touch.

Two more legs that will never run.

One more mouth that will never speak.

“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” -James 1:22

I Shall... God being my help and strength

Addressing the Persons that are to be married, the Authorised Official shall say (and this may differ from place to and place):
"I require and charge you both, in the presence of God, that if either of you know any impediment why you may not be lawfully joined together in Holy Matrimony, you do now confess it. For be well assured that so many as are joined together otherwise than God's word does allow, are not joined together by God; neither is their Matrimony lawful in His sight..."

The continuity and completion of the ceremony hinges on an affirmation to the negative of this question; and the sanctity of the marriage depends upon whether the solemn declaration made at this point is truthful. At this point any faults, restraints, reservations and adverse agreement to having God as the centre of the marriage must be confessed. (Be warned, God already knows) It is a vow, an oath, a covenant sworn to God and the Heavenly Host present - it is the crux of a successful and guaranteed blessed marriage - and quite amazingly, I believe, the only part of the ceremony that DOES NOT REQUIRE the attendance of any officials, witnesses nor congregation, not even the intended spouse - yet it is crucial in cementing a completely new stage in the journey of life, as a unified one, amongst these and all other people.

The 'I do's or 'I will's or 'I shall's (incidentally, 'I shall' is the correct contextual English) - the '...for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health...', MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING if this FIRST VOW to and before God has not been met. Before you resign your marriage to counselling, separation, 'time apart', and even 'frivolous' renewal of your wedding vows - address, truthfully confess and recommit to this INITIAL COVENANT every day; and God forbid, should the day arise when you cannot, and your resolve be exhausted, it would be far better for all parties that your union be dissolved - I know, harsh and scary.

Just recently I discovered that some couples have requested this part of the ceremony to be omitted; and shamefully, in many cases, the authorised Person or Registrar have shortsightedly obliged. This is tragic, because at this initial point, at this impasse, the true God-sanctioned marriage and union is written. This is the true marriage vow that will guarantee a successful and God-blessed partnership which will withstand anything the world may throw at it...

"I require and charge you , in the presence of God, that if you know any impediment why you may not be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, you do now confess it. For be well assured that so many as are shallowly expecting Eternal Life otherwise than God's word does allow, are not welcomed by God; neither feign bemusement that is your welfare is not precious in His sight..." - your free-will, your choice!

I take this opportunity to thank God from the depths of my heart for the inspiration and guidance He bestowed on me to be His instrument in documenting and sharing these words - All glory and honour I give to Him, Amen. (",)

Inasmuch as you did it unto the least of these...

Pastor Jeremiah Steepek transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced to as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service.... only 3 people out of the 7,000 to 10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food.... NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit in the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.

As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation.... "We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"... The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation... The homeless man sitting in the back stood up... and started walking down the aisle... the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him... he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment... then he recited:

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’"
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"

After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning... many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... He then said: 'Today I see a gathering of people... not a Church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples... when will YOU decide to become disciples?' He then dismissed service until the next week... Being a Believer is more than something you claim. It's something you live by and share with others...

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” -Hebrews 11:1

Blessed Unity...

MARRIAGE is a relationship based in no small part on virtues. The most basic of these is responsibility, for marriage is an arrangement held together by mutual dependence and reciprocal obligations. But successful marriages are about more than fulfilling the conditions of a contract. In good marriages, men and women seek to improve themselves for the sake of their loved one. They offer and draw moral strength by sharing compassion, honesty and a host of other virtues. The whole of the union becomes stronger and more wonderful than the sum of the two parts. - William Bennet

MARRIAGE a School requiring no Certification before you start. A school where you will never graduate. A school without a break or a free period. A school where no one is allowed to drop out, a school which you will have to attend every day of your life. A school where there is no sick leave or holidays. A school founded by God: 1.On the foundation of love, 2.The walls are made out of trust, 3.The door made out of acceptance, 4.The windows made out of understanding, 5.The furniture made out of blessings, 6.The roof made out of faith.

Before you forget, you are just a student not the principal, God is the Principal Even in times of storms, don't be unwise and run outside, remember this school is the safest place to be. Never go to sleep before completing your assignments for the day Never forget the C-word, Communicate, communicate, communicate to your classmate and to the Principal. If you find out something in your classmate (spouse) that you do not appreciate. Remember your classmate is also just a student not a graduate, God is not finished with him/her yet. So take it as a challenge and work on it together.

Do not forget to study, study, study the Holy Book (the main textbook in this school). Start each day with a sacred assembly and end it the same way. Sometimes you will feel like not attending classes, yet you have to. When tempted to quit find courage and continue. Some tests and exams may be tough but remember the Principal knows how much you can bear. But still it is a school better than any other. It is one of the best schools on earth; joy, peace and happiness accompany each lessons of the day.
Different subjects are offered in this school, yet love is the major subject. After all the years of theorizing about it, now you have a chance to practice it. To be loved is a good thing, but to love is a greatest privilege of them all Marriage is a place of love, so love your spouse...

All things are held together by Him ~ SB

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.” -1 Corinthians 13:1-3

CIRCUMSTANCE: It cannot cripple love; it cannot corrode faith; it cannot shatter hope; it cannot eat away peace; it cannot destroy confidence; it cannot kill friendship; it cannot shut out memories; it cannot silence courage; it cannot invade the soul; it cannot reduce eternal life; it cannot quench the spirit... unless we allow it!

You need not feel guilty that you turn to Me when you have exhausted all other possibilities for joy and there is nowhere else to turn. Thank yourself for going where you are sure to find comfort. Now is the only moment there is. Now, we are joined as One. ~ GOD

Everything Under the Sun

Look around you; there is only one reality. The reason that you are here, wherever here is for you, is because it is the only place that you can be right now. But even though reality is right here, and even though there is quite literally nothing but reality, it is very possible for you to miss it altogether. By miss it I mean to imagine that reality is something or somewhere other than here. As strange as it may sound it is very possible, even probable, that even though you have eyes to see, you do not see. And even though you have ears to hear, you do not hear. What you see and hear is not exactly what is actually here, but what you imagine is here.

Our imagination is a very powerful force in determining what we perceive. If we imagine that the world is teeming with evil forces, we will surely perceive the world as evil. But if we imagine the world to be essentially good, we will perceive it as good. Either way it is the same world that we are looking at. But the world is neither good nor bad in and of itself; it is simply what it is. And if we see the world as either good or bad, we will not be able to see it as it actually is. We will only be able to see it as we imagine it to be.

Now take this idea and apply it to everything and everyone in your life. Try it for a moment, or an hour, or a day. And if you do, you may begin to notice that the world you imagine to exist does not exist at all. This may cause you some fear, or possibly the thrill of discovery, but either way the important thing is to get some distance from the habitual way the mind contorts and creates perception.

But even though our mind imagines the world and everything in it to be other than the way it actually is, the reality of existence remains eternally untouched by our mis-perception of it. This is both relatively good and bad. It is good in that existence is eternally what it is. We need not worry about reality becoming something other than reality. But it is bad in the sense that the world we imagine to exist is always colliding with the world as it actually is. This collision is the cause of immense human suffering and conflict.

So we are trapped within our illusions and mis-perceptions. And the greatest illusion of all is to believe that we are not trapped. But even when we realize that we are confined within a prison of our own making, we are trapped because all the ways we struggle to get out of our illusions are illusions themselves. So, yes, we are trapped, and helpless to boot.

But there is a very strange thing that can occur at exactly the point where you realize that there is no escaping the imaginary world of your illusions. You bare your heart open to illusion, surrender your eternal struggle against it, and admit to being bound by its cunning imagination. I don’t mean that you become despondent or resigned to your fate. I mean that you truly let go in the face of your utter defeat and stop struggling.

And when all the struggle ceases, we realize that the prison of our mind cannot hold us in anymore, because the prison was all along something we imagined into existence. And imagined things aren’t real, they don’t exist. But we could never really see this as long as we were fighting the phantoms of our minds. We needed the one thing that our imaginary minds could not bring about, could not fake or create: the genuine surrender of all struggle.

In the blink of an eye, we are no longer confined within illusion nor our attempt to avoid illusion. When all struggle ceases, there is nothing to bind us to a distorted perception of existence and we can finally see. What we see is that we do not simply exist within existence, but all of existence exists within us as well. And although everywhere we look we see the endless diversity of life, we also now see our own true face in everything under the sun. - Adyashanti

For our true loved ones...

“You may not be their first, their last, or their only. They loved before, they may love again. But if they love you now, what else matters? They are not perfect - you aren’t either, and you may never be perfect together but if they can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto them and give them the most you can. They may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but they will give you a part of them that they know can break their heart. So don’t hurt them, don’t change them, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than they can give. Smile when they make you happy, let them know when they make you mad, and miss them when they're not there.” - It hurts to love someone when we can’t tell them what we really feel because sometimes we get hurt without them knowing. We get jealous even if we have no right to feel that way. We want their time even if we are not in the position to demand it. And although our hearts are breaking in silence, we still continue to love them because somehow in this hurtful love there is still hope of having simple moments with them even if it means being just a friend....

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Christ is Risen... He is risen indeed!

Did you hear the news today? Jesus, the One crucified on the cross, is risen! Do you believe it? Have you told anyone about it? Jesus' resurrection is unreasonable and awe-inspiring. It was no more reasonable 2,000 years ago than it is today. Rise from the dead? How? And why wasn't there any warning? There was. The prophets, and Jesus himself, repeatedly foretold this death and resurrection. At least three times, we are told, Jesus predicted His impending death.

On Easter Sunday the church tells the story of the empty tomb and the charge by the messenger to “go and tell.”  For the next several weeks Christians tell and retell stories of Jesus’ first followers who encountered Him against all hope. Amidst their doubt, fear, and longing, suddenly He was present -risen from the dead, and encountering them in a locked room, by the lakeshore, on the road to Emmaus.

The church combines these resurrection stories with stories from Acts of the Apostles: the efforts of the first Christian communities to spread the gospel through the world. The early church celebrated these weeks after Easter. They instructed newly baptized Christians during this time, and encouraged them to explore, in their new community, the joyful mystery of the encounter of the risen Christ with their lives. As we celebrate, we learn again to recognize the risen Jesus where He is to be found: in our midst, in our stories, in the breaking of the bread - and as we faithfully bear witness to the reality of Christ’s presence to the world.

Jesus said: "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death; then they will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified; and on the third day he will be raised" (Matthew 20:18-19).

Yet the witnesses at Jesus' tomb were surprised. The Gospel of Mark tells us that "terror and amazement" seized them. They were so afraid they said nothing to anyone - at first. But when they began sharing the good news of God's love for both Jews and gentiles, the Holy Spirit moved among them (Acts 10).

Likewise today, the Easter story of God's love for all should be shared. We too are disciples of Jesus, growing in Christ's image and our relationship with God. The Easter story inspires and asserts God's unfathomable love for us: Jesus broke the powers of sin and death, canceled our debt of sin and opened the way to new life through God's grace.

We need that good news, and so does our world. Economic turbulence, warfare and injustices run rampant today. We live in "catastrophic, catatonic, catalytic" times. Our world yearns for new movement. Evil, though not always acknowledged, is among us. But the Easter story reminds us how Jesus embodied God's redeeming love for all.

Like those first witnesses at Jesus' grave, how often are we afraid, unwilling or not invited to share our stories? Created in God's image, we each have a piece of God's story. As we welcome each other into this unfolding story, we empower each other. Storytelling, at its core, is an act of hospitality. And we have an amazing story to tell: Jesus no longer lives among us but within us.

We continue sharing today. "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it," says Psalm 118:24.

And what a reason for gladness and joy: The Lord is risen! Now let us share this good news with the world.

I AM; BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED ME! ~ Stafford

Harnessing the Agulhas Sea Current – vital practical potential benefits exposed, yet thus far ignored….

HERE’S A “WORKING PLAN” HOW THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT CAN:

Create “SUSTAINABLE JOBS”
Eliminate “POVERTY”
Reverse “WATER SHORTAGES”

This PLAN is “Rapid-Results” and is Based on Science, and Practical Engineering.

OVERVIEW:
The Central Thrust of this PLAN is to Harness the “Green-Energy” force of the “Agulhas Current” which flows day and night, all year round – down the East Coast of South Africa.

The Site for this “Capturing and Harvesting” of this mighty energy, will exist in two places:
On-Shore: On the Beachfront Area – midway between East London and Durban – and –
Off-Shore: Directly Opposite – and within our twelve-mile, State-Owned TerritoryLimit.

THE POWER SOURCE:

This marvellous, “GREEN-ENERGY” POWER-SOURCE Available 24 / 7 365 Days a Year! – called the “Agulhas Current” – runs roughly Southwest, on the edge of the East Coast of South Africa – at a speed, in certain places, of around 5 Knots that’s the equivalent of a determined, full-on, “Jogging-Pace”. The raw force of this current is sufficient that “savvy” Ships-Captains deliberately steer clear of it, while travelling Northwards off our East Coast – avoiding the current’s head-on, “speed-impeding” effect and on their South run, they deliberately steer into its awesome torrent – to augment their ship’s speed, by adding the speed of the current to it!

THE MAIN PURPOSE FOR THIS PROJECT:
The main and abiding purpose of harnessing the Agulhas Current, is to generate electricity in quantities great enough to convert – through desalination – enormous and continuous amounts of sea water into fresh water, which we will use to Augment our Finite, Fast-Diminishing, “natural” supply of fresh water, by “topping-up” our country’s dams and reservoirs.

Integrated within this purpose, is the “Creation of Sustainable Jobs” – and the “Eradication of Poverty”, which providing these jobs, will enable. The implementation of this vast Plan, will be “highly labour-intensive” – providing employment for Literally Millions of our people!
Of Importance at the Outset! I wish to emphasise, that my urging that we generate electricity, using the “Agulhas Current” as the prime-mover, IS NOT intended to “compete” with Eskom NOR, to “compete” with other, proven and operating, “green energy” systems, such as Wind / Solar / etc NOR even, at this stage, to add the resultant generated-power, to the National Grid. - Quite the opposite!

THE METHODOLOGY:
Our entire purpose must be to use this natural, green-energy source, as a “stand-alone” Electricity-Generation System, to power exclusively, the operation of any number of “on-shore” Desalination Plants – as many as we need build – the essential purpose of which – let’s remind ourselves once more – is to augment our country’s finite, and precariously diminishing, fresh-water resources – predicted to be “in short supply”, within 12 years time!
Additionally – that same electricity supply will be employed to drive Pumping-Stations across our land – which will push this newly-desalinated, fresh water, through pipelines leading to our countrywide, dams and reservoirs, to “top them up”

And as much as the amount of Free “take-off” available to us from the Agulhas Current, is absolutely endless so too, is our decision without limits – as to the number of “Vessels” we employ in the harnessing of this power, as that will simply be “as many as are needed”.

“So?” – you ask – “How’s it all going to work?” Let me invoke Albert Einstein’s appropriate saying, here “Imagination Is Everything!” and I ask you please, to fully utilise Your imaginative capacity – as you participate in my “Scenarios” I will build here – which most certainly will require more “fine tuning” by a team of “Engineering Project-Managers”, toward their “final go-ahead”, for implementation. The “revision” of plans laid, is a natural and evolutionary process in any discipline. So do feel free, please – Afterwards! – to associate your own, “better-working” ideas, with mine.

Meanwhile … here’s MY “Vision”:

Remember, please, that at Every Step along the way, everything we will build – will man – and maintain will largely be done by “The Presently Unemployed” folk in our country!
While we solve our Water Shortages, we are simultaneously going to create Millions of Sustainable, Meaningful JOBS! – and Put an End to POVERTY!
Also to bear in mind – given the enormity of the Project, in size and scope – and that the “Off-Shore Sites” for our ‘Vessels’ will be within our territorial limits of 12 miles, making it “State-Owned Property” – is the fact that this will of necessity be a “Government Enterprise”. But no doubt, it will prove an attractive “partnership” with Government – for the Private Sector, and / or Overseas Investors.

THE “CURRENT-HARNESSING” MECHANISM:

We are not the only folk to turn to ocean currents and tides. This is fortunate, as there has been much research done by others, into the best mechanisms to employ for the purpose. For instance – the United States Naval Academy has perfected a propeller to capture the useful force of relatively slow-moving water like the Agulhas Current – the design being based on the tail-features of the Humpback whale. And given Our Own Navy’s positive reciprocity with their American counterparts, we should have no difficulty in asking them to share their research and designs with us, so that we can create the very best “current-capturing” propellers to use in our own Project.

The pressure of the sea-current on the blades turns the propeller – which is then “harnessed” to other mechanisms, to produce useful work. And in “My Own Vision”, this translates into the individual propeller, either directly driving an electricity-generator, and sending the resultant power onshore by way of suitable power cables, to the Desalination Plants or directly driving powerful pumps – sending seawater through a pipeline, immediately from the “vessel”, onto the land.
In the First Instance here, the “cabled“ electricity will drive land-based pumps which extract water from the ocean, and pass it on to reservoirs where it can “settle”, and from which the Desalination Plants will draw their constant supply for processing into fresh water.

In the Second Instance above, the seawater coming ashore in the pipeline, will also enter the reservoirs but on its way there, it will first be directed through the intakes of Hydro-Electric Generators, the power from which, will be used to operate the desalination plants. Another purpose to which the reservoirs can be put, during their operation, is that they can possibly be co-opted into use as “Seawater Fish-Farms” – useful to feed the workers! Further inland, this same enterprise, can be employed to create “Fresh-Water Fish Farms”

THE KIND OF “VESSELS” WE NEED TO WORK WITH, IN THE AGULHAS CURRENT:

In my opinion, our ideal “Vessel”, is an “Oil-Rig” – Especially Adapted to our Project’s use.
An Oil-Rig is designed and built to be stable, and withstand the most violent seas – it can be anchored so well, it will not be dislodged from its position – it can be moved, when and if required – it has all the “crew-comfort” facilities one can wish for – it has, already built in, all the mechanisms to keep it “self-contained” – it has a helicopter landing pad, for ferrying in supplies – and most importantly – it has lifting gear already fitted but in our instances, we will be raising and lowering our Propellers instead of “oil-drilling” mechanisms!

Why, we would need to easily move our Propellers up and down, is a matter of “preventive maintenance” – e.g. – if we have a “pod” of, say, 6 Propellers on a rig 5 should always be operating “down below” – and one, pro-rata, hoisted up for routine inspection and service.
Remember this, as you employ your creative, innovative imagination while envisioning these scenarios I’m painting here we can have just as many of these “rigs” of ours, as needed, working continuously in the current – either singly, or in concert – depending on what predetermined duties and results are expected of each of these units.
Singapore is a part of the world which has “Renowned" Builders of oil rigs – ready and willing to “take orders” – and for them to custom-build the kind of “rigs” we need, will be a pushover – since they are already in this specialised business!

PARTIAL LIST OF ON-SHORE EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES WE WILL NEED …

Includes the Desalination Plants themselves enormous engineering workshops of every possible description: pumps, pipelines, “underwater-engineering”, storage facilities for engineering supplies, workers’ accommodation, administration buildings, etc/ etc.

WHERE ARE THESE KINDS OF EQUIPMENT & ANCILLARY SERVICES AVAILABLE?

A useful resource you can explore for this, is an internet site called “TradePub.com” who have available, literally hundreds of specialist publications “MarineLog” and their weekly Newsletter, being one I have subscribed to – which has been very useful in the research of this document.
But naturally, we should “try local”, before we go abroad for our needs – assuming always of course, that “local” has kept up with the latest advances in their respective fields!

ADDITIONAL “JOB-CREATING” FACILITIES WHICH WILL BE REQUIRED:

Seeing that the “newly-fresh” water, needs to be moved around the country, we will need pipelines to be laid, pumping-stations to be erected, roads to be built, tunnels to be dug, additional reservoirs to be built, earthworks to be performed – the list goes on and on
And so massive and involved will be the Project, that over a relatively short time, the support-base for the Onshore Site cannot help but become a Whole New Town – (Azania”?) – The design of which can be of totally African Origin – and can be planned for – and work commenced on it – utilising our presently unemployed, from first “get-go” of this Project.

It should be blatantly evident that “JOB CREATION” Skilled and Unskilled is in “full-swing” here! – for the Long-Term Benefit of south Africa and its Peoples!

LET’S LOOK NOW AT THE “DESALINATION” PLANTS:

Not to bore you with the details – take it “as read” that I have “looked around” pretty well – and finally I have come across a company which seems way out in front of all the others, in that they have developed methodologies which are much more efficient and effective.
Look them up on the internet: “Plus Technologies IP Holding GmbH” – and see what I mean. Along with that, they are a German company – so, we can have high expectations!
An important instance of their advanced thinking is this that they have methods for processing the “residual sea-salt” from the desalination process, into some of its natural, Constituent Chemicals – which have the following useful and saleable features – making what would otherwise be a “bothersome waste-product”, into a thriving profit-centre:
Purified Brine – for industrial applications
Purified Table Salt – for human consumption and food manufacturing processes
Magnesium Hydroxide Powder – used in waste-water treatment and flame retardants
Calcined Gypsum Powder – used in large quantities in the Construction Industries

So its Evident Such a desalination-plant will more than cover its “board and lodging”!

SO … WHERE IS THE COASTAL SITE FOR THE DESALINATION PLANTS TO BE?

The ideal site must obviously be opposite that particular length of the Agulhas Current, where – as near as possible – this “desirable permutation” exists

 A) the Agulhas Current is closest to the shore,
B) it is as near the surface as possible,
C) and is running at its strongest, fastest, speed.

That will be where – in the ocean – our current-harnessing “rigs” will be working. And opposite that – on the coast – will be situated the Desalination Plants.
I have an impression, from satellite images I've accessed during Internet searches I've made, that this area might be somewhere between 30 to 35 degrees latitude -- between East London and Durban ... but hey! -- That’s just an assumption on my part!

What is needed, to help take the "guesswork" out of it – is much more qualified opinions. Perhaps the South African Navy’s “Hydrographic Survey” Department, and the “CSIR”, who have made a survey of the Agulhas Current.

WATER SHORTAGES:

Our “natural” potable water-supply, is being Outstripped by Demand. So all we’re really doing with “conservation and management”, is – “Putting Off The Evil Hour!” until our natural water-supply can no longer cope – and we run short We have to Urgently AUGMENT our Fresh-Water Supply, through the
Desalination of Sea Water! – And distribute it, Countrywide! BUT HAPPILY! Because that whole process – from implementation – to distribution – to ongoing maintenance – will be hugely LABOUR-INTENSIVE; therein exists the ADDITIONAL Solution!! That of providing Sustainable EMPLOYMENT – for Literally Millions!

Anyone imposing a “good reason” for the Solution herein, NOT to be applied – should either have a “better plan” or take the full blame for their choice of the “Looming Consequences” they’re allowing to be visited upon us! TIME is not on our side! Let’s not be “part of the problem” through our INACTION!
Let’s safeguard our future! Let us together, “take the pain away” from the country of South Africa. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THE ORIGINATOR OF THIS PLAN: (First Draft was prepared in December, 2009).
My name is Len Stevens. I am a South African Patriot. My first career was that of a Marine Engineer Officer in the Merchant Navy – so I am personally familiar with the Agulhas Current – and the practical “Mechanics” of the Project are within my expertise to discuss.
Intermittently over the last 5 years, I have studied the feasibility of harnessing the Agulhas Current, for the good of my Country – and developed this “Operational Plan” which – while being altogether practical and achievable – can be put into immediate effect, simply “By Government Edict” – the site of it, as already mentioned, being on “State-Owned” property. The immediate “implementation” of this PLAN Is Vitally Important! – to relieve the festering discontent of the myriad unemployed of our Country, by providing Millions of Meaningful, Sustainable Jobs – and in the process? – constructing a completely-new Town. Important! I do not have nor seek any Personal Role  in the Implementation of this Project.

AFFIRMATION

Yours is the face I see as I close my eyes, and the visage remains in my mind until I awake. I am helpless to prevent its course. A pleasant presence, perhaps even obsessive, but never invasive; sweet torture, so tenderly beautifully constant!

I hereby pledge, before and with the help of God, to love, honour, cherish, serve and obey with you for rest of my life here on Earth. And should the Lord see fit to take me with Him into Eternity, I extend this pledge to that Glorious Abode as well.

This pledge’s essence is timeless and therefore its expiry null and insists this that you contact me the split second your circumstances have aligned to make it possible for us to be together.

The singular reproach I hold against you is the current longing I have for more exposure to that spirit of abundant kindness, love and interest you exhibit so selflessly. That infectious giggle and teasing nature I love so dearly.

I embrace the special joy you bring to our love that no other could ever replace; this consequence prevails on me to further troth this that with the blessing of God our Father; I shall not extend my full love to another; and will remain faithfully yours until you return to me…

Kind, gentle soul embrace this oath as a treasure that you possess in something precious, that I know and feel you hold dear. Under this guarantee I am perfectly patient and peacefully content to wait, completely trusting in your wisdom and God’s guidance in your and my life ahead.

Forever yours

For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.” -1 John 3:11

Virtue - thy name be courage...

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated don’t give way to hating
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And - which is more - you’ll be a Man, my son!

“Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.” -Psalm 97:10

The Room...

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings. As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read "Girls I have liked." I opened it and began flipping through the cards. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was.

This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named "Friends" was next to one marked "Friends I have betrayed." The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird "Books I Have Read," "Lies I Have Told," "Comfort I have Given," "Jokes I Have Laughed at ." Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: "Things I've yelled at my brothers." Others I couldn't laugh at: "Things I Have Done in My Anger", "Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents." I never ceased to be surprised by the contents.

Often there were many more cards than I expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived. Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked "TV Shows I have watched", I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts," I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content.

I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me. One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!" In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it.

Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it.. The title bore "People I Have Shared the Gospel With." The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came. I began to weep. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him. Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own.

He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes. Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me.. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. "No!" I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was "No, no," as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, so alive. The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back. He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards.. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side.

He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, "It is finished." I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written...

Grow up...

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let us down, probably will.

You will have your heart broken and you will break others' hearts. You will fight with your best friend or maybe even fall in love with them and you will cry because time is flying by.

So take too many pictures, laugh, forgive freely and love like you've never been hurt. Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, and too few second chances.

You just have to live life to the fullest, tell someone what they mean to you, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late and smile until your face hurts.

Never be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you will never get back.

My love...

I am not afraid to tell you, “I love you.” Your mind may say, “How can you love me when you don’t even know me?” I don’t need to know you. I don’t need to justify my love. I love you because this is my desire and pleasure. The love for you, coming out of me, makes me happy. And it’s not important if you reject me because I don’t reject myself. In my story, I live in an ongoing romance, and everything worthy about you is beautiful for me. To live in love is to be alive again. When one recovers one's integrity, you always follow love. You live your life as an eternal romance because when you love yourself, it is easy to love everyone else...

Becoming a World-Class Believer

The Great Commission is your commission – either be a world-class believer or a worldly believer…

As a world-class believer God invites you to participate in the greatest, largest, most diverse and most significant cause in history – His kingdom. Someday the Great Commission will be the Great Completion. It is a small world after all – every corner of the globe is available to you (ask any travel agent) – we have no excuse not to spread the Good News. And with Internet access we can personally communicate with people in virtually every country on earth. It has never been easier in history to fulfill your commission to go to the whole world. To be a world-class believer, all you have to do is change your perspective and attitude.

+ Shift from self-centred to other-centred thinking.

Children only think of themselves; grownups think of others. This is a difficult mental shift because we’re naturally self-absorbed. The only way we can make this paradigm switch is by a moment-by-moment dependence on God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to think of the spiritual need of unbelievers whenever you talk to them – develop the habit of praying silent ‘breath prayers’ for those you encounter. (Something like, “Father help me fathom what is keeping this person from knowing You.”

+ Shift from local to global thinking.

God has always cared about the entire world. Our lives are increasingly intertwined with those in other nations as we share fashions, entertainment, music, sports and even fast-food. (Not to mention wars, sanctions, poverty, arms trade, etc) These are exciting days to be alive. There are more believers on earth right now than ever before! World-class believers pray for the whole world, country by country. (So keep abreast with international news media)

Prayer is the most important tool for your mission in the world. (I JUST LOVE THE POWERFUL FEELING THIS GIVES ME!) People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers! The Bible tells us to pray for opportunities to witness, for courage to speak up, for those who will believe, for the rapid spread of the message and for more field-workers.

+ Shift from ‘here and now’ to eternal thinking.

Maintain an eternal perspective – distinguish between what’s urgent and what’s ultimate. So much of what we waste our energy on will not matter even a year from now, much less for eternity. Don’t trade your life for temporary things. (‘GOD created us an original, don't die a copy’) You can’t take it with you – but you can send it on ahead by investing it in people who are going to be there!

+ Shift from making excuses to creating solutions to fulfill your commission.

Common excuses are: ‘I only speak English’, ‘I don’t have anything to offer’, and ‘I’m too old {or too young}’ God doesn’t want to use just some of His people; He wants to use all of His people. Many believers have missed God’s plan for their lives because them have never even asked God where and how He wants them to serve. (You can’t sit around waiting for some supernatural feeling or an epiphany) Seriously pray and ask God what He wants from you in the years ahead – there are over 7 billion people on earth, and Jesus wants all His lost children to be found.
The Great Commission is your commission, and doing your part is the secret to living a life of significance.

Let’s go mission together in the love of the Lord… ~ Stafford

Happy New Year 2013

Looking back on the past year and all that has run its course in your life, remember each experience for the good that has come of it and for the lessons and insights you have learned....

Remember the goals you have reached, the love you have shared, the happiness, joy and laughter you have brought, the hard work, the easy times, the efforts made, and the tears shed...

As you reflect and reminisce on the past year, recall what you have to do differently, better and with more dedication. After all, this is a time of new beginnings and rebirth of your journey in the celebration of life...

Here's to a splendid New Year and another chance for us to get it right...

- We pray, Oh God of Second Chances, bless us abundantly with all that is worthy and good! P.S. - and Lord please grant us a bit of fun now and again, how marvelously that displays our faith in Your mercy as we strive to glorify Your name. Amen

Blessings abounding and shared

Whatever happened to treats? Finding a four-year-old who isn't jaded, jet-lagged and ‘big-city’-jaundiced is more difficult than finding a Tibetan yak-herder who knows about time-sharing.

Practically all kids seem to get video games, iPod,  iPad  and cell phones for their birthdays, fly to Sun City or some resort, take their holidays in Mauritius and have mapped out their careers before they have their permanent teeth - I'd rather not even go into the demands, expectations and wants of the typical modern teenager.

A treat used to be buying an ice lolly after school; being let off piano practice because you were running in the school sports; buying your first CD (seven-single or cassette); going to a movie without your parents; being allowed to pass around the snacks at the New Year party. If you were really fortunate, birthdays had jelly in half oranges, an ice-cream cake, tins of toffees, your first pair of nylons, a new elastic for your ‘ding-bat’, Monopoly ... As for your first aeroplane journey, why, that had you lying awake in an agony of anticipation for weeks…

There is, of course, nothing blatantly wrong about according and affording all the above – I just wonder how many are actually made aware to know, appreciate and savour these ‘treats’ with the correct amount of gratitude; moreover, the correct type of gratitude. Enjoying and sharing in the benefits of someone else's blessings is one of the gifts we seldom count amongst our own blessings. On the contrary they are the finest of all blessings, because they are shared blessings…

Let me take this opportunity to thank all of you who share your blessings with me, most times unknowingly, now there is the greatest blessing of all! God bless ~ Stafford

Christmas Crux - One Solitary Life...

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up in another obscure village, where He worked in a carpenter shop until He was thirty. Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher. He never had a family or owned a home. He never set foot inside a big city. He never traveled two hundred miles from the place He was born. He never wrote a book, or held an office. He did none of the things that usually accompany greatness...

While He was still a young man, the tide of popular opinion turned against Him. His friends deserted Him. He was turned over to His enemies, and went through the mockery of a trial. He was nailed to a cross between two thieves. While He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had, His coat. When He was dead, He was taken down and laid in a borrowed grave...

Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure for much of the human race. All the armies that ever marched and all the navies that ever sailed and all the parliaments that ever sat and all the kings that ever reigned, put together, have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as this, One Solitary Life...

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” -Isaiah 9:6

Believers' Q&A

Why does God allow suffering?
Probably the most difficult aspect of suffering is that we rarely have a reasonable explanation for it. The Bible makes it clear that the world we live in is a fallen world, a world in rebellion against God and therefore prone to calamities. There are floods and earthquakes, plagues such as AIDS, and man-made disasters such as war, drug abuse and oppression. Clearly, no one is exempt from some form of hardship. Remember, we are being tested; God always has hidden purposes behind allowing people to suffer.

How can a just God tell us to forgive bad people?
First, because we know that at some stage we have all violated God's perfect standard of goodness. None of us deserves forgiveness from God, yet He took the initiative to forgive humankind when Jesus paid the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. This is the crux of the Christian message. When we accept the forgiveness of God, God calls us to pass on that forgiveness to others.
The second reason is that we can fight hatred by forgiving. If we did not forgive, we would give in to bitterness, which is like a root that would eventually grow to harm us even further. Forgiveness helps us to cope with events that we can do nothing about. Sometimes the demand for revenge is like trying to move a fallen tree instead of stepping round it. By forgiving those who wrong us, we allow ourselves to move ahead in our lives.

Why doesn't God answer my prayers?
Why should He? Is God under obligation to us? We often act as though He is, and when things go wrong we expect Him to jump to our rescue. But when Jesus taught us to take our needs to God, he also taught us to pray, "Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven." Our duty is to surrender to God's will.

What happens after we die?
The Bible teaches that there are two possible destinies for you and me, depending on the way we respond to Jesus Christ in this life. Jesus described these two destinies as the narrow road to eternal life and the broad road to eternal destruction. Those who love and obey Him in this world will not only get to enjoy eternity with Him, but will actually become like Him, sharing His wisdom, joy and complete fulfillment. Those who reject Jesus, however, will be separated from Him for all eternity. Scripture calls this separation everlasting death, an agony souls will suffer without end.
Over the years, this Biblical view of life after death - heaven or hell - has become a sort of medieval myth to many, including some who claim to be Christians. Yet Jesus clearly refers to heaven and hell as eternal destinations for humankind. He intended to drive home the terrible urgency of the choice we have to make - whether or not to follow Him - during our short lives on earth.

How can a loving God send people to hell?
It is true that God is love, but that is not all He is. He is also holy - in other words, perfect. Because God is perfect, in His eyes not one of us could really be called good. Each of us has made a selfish choice at least once in our lives. Maybe we lied, cheated on our income tax, failed to help someone in distress, paid less than a fair wage to a worker. Can we expect a just and perfect God to ignore wickedness, however small? God offers forgiveness through His Son, Jesus Christ. Only those who accept this salvation can shed their own wickedness and meet God's perfect standard.

Is God and His Church still relevant in the 21st century?
For over 100 years, modern thinkers have been saying that humankind has outgrown the need to worship God. They assume that technology, science and philosophy can give our lives meaning. But so far no discovery, invention or formula has been found that transforms the lives of people who are broken-hearted, sick or dying. Underneath the sinking sand of tears, grief and loss there is a solid rock. That rock is our faith in Christ; a faith that has helped millions through 2 000 years of turbulent history. It will continue to do so until the end of time, for one simple reason: because God became one of us, yet without sin. Jesus was God in human form. In Christ, God shared our limitations – He understands…

He lived among the poor. He joined funeral processions and weddings. He held children in His arms. He wept for those He loved. He was betrayed by His friends and was brutally tortured to death. His life was, and is, the greatest story ever told, God's perfect plan for the restoration of His Creation. And it all began when a young maiden gave birth to a baby in Bethlehem.
