Day 011 - Becoming best friends with GOD

God wants to be your best friend.

Although God is our Creator, Lord and Master, Judge, Redeemer, Father, Saviour, and much more; the amazing truth is this, that Almighty God longs to be your Friend... that's why He made us, after all!

Friendship with God is possible only because of the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

FRIENDSHIP WITH GOD IS POSSIBLE FOR THOSE WHO REVERENCE HIM - WITH THEM HE SHARES THE SECRETS OF HIS PROMISES.

God invites us to enjoy friendship and fellowship with all three Persons of the Trinity.
Seems hard to understand that He deeply desires that we get to know Him intimately. Actually He planned the Universe and orchestrated history, including the details of our lives, so that we could become His friends.

KNOWING AND LOVING GOD IS OUR GREATEST PRIVILEGE, AND BEING KNOWN AND LOVED IS GOD'S GREATEST PLEASURE.

We become best friends with God through constant conversation.
'Praying without ceasing' means including Him in every activity, every conversation, every problem, and even every thought. A continuous, open-ended conversation throughout your day.
The key is not changing what you do; but rather changing your attitude toward what you do - a perpetual attitude of worship.
If it's rooted deep in your heart, with your motive to honour Him, you must train your mind to remember God.
Short prayers or utterences, acknowledging His presence, whilst performing your daily routines or your new challenges will achieve an ongoing relationship with Him.

EVERYTHING YOU DO CAN BE 'SPENDING TIME WITH GOD' IF HE IS INVITED TO BE A PART OF IT AND YOU STAY AWARE OF HIS PRESENCE.

Train your mind to remember Him.
(THINK: God is with me and for me right now!)

Another way to become best friends with GOD is through constant meditation - thinking about His Word throughout the day (recalling a reading, sermon message or memorised Bible verse and mulling them over in your mind)

Meditation isn't some difficult, mysterious ritual only practised by 'enlightened' gurus and intellectuals.
No, meditation is simply focused thinking - a skill anyone can learn and use anywhere.

Thinking about a problem over and over in your mind, that's Worry.
Doing the same with God's Word, that's Meditation.

If you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate!

Developing the habit of thinking about His Word throughout the day, accords us God's friendship. And because friends share secrets; God will share the secrets of His promises with you.
Nurture the practice of reviewing what you heard, read or feel about His Word (reviewing what God has said), it gets you to better understand the 'secrets' that most people miss.

Much love, I'm praying for you ~ SB

PS - the abovesaid being shared; doesn't mean stopping or neglecting your 'alone time' daily devotional period with God
