You cannot help someone who does not want that helping hand.
If they are content to allow themselves to be used and abused, there is absolutely nothing you can say or do; short of locking them up and throwing away the key.
If the road they choose, like a moth to a flame, will lead to their inevitable destruction or perpetuation of their afflictions; perhaps 'locking' them away is the best for all!
These impaired individuals need more love than any other wretch; the irony is that they refuse to accept that they need saving and will find all manner of justification to qualify their descent into a self-imposed hell.
Do we pity them, ignore them, shame them; or allow them to pursue the path to their demise?
My friends, please, intercede as soon as possible, you may be that minimum of impetus they need to check themselves; and place them on a path of self- redemption...
